Preparation can help you make the most of your salon visit. Here are a few simple tips to make your next beauty appointment the best it can be…

Before you schedule your salon appointment, you want to research your salon to ensure that it suits your needs. Is it nearby? Are its hours convenient? Are its beauty professionals highly skilled and do they offer the services you need?

Remember the saying, “a picture is worth a thousand words”? It definitely is. If you have a new hairstyle in mind, a photo of it is the best possible way to explain exactly what you are looking for to your hair stylist. So do some online browsing or breeze through a few magazines in preparation of your salon visit.

If you don’t happen to know the exact hairstyle you want, it helps to at least have some clear goals in mind. For instance, are you looking for a bold change or is your style more traditional? Are you looking for versatility or a hairstyle that is easy to maintain?

Clear communication is also very valuable, so voice any concerns you may have as well.

As far as your hair itself, in preparation of your salon visit, wash it one or two days prior to avoid stripping your natural oils. Also try to avoid use of heavy styling products which could impede any treatments you may receive.

Then sit back, relax and enjoy!
